Both products will be available next month so stay tuned to hear when or definitive prices, but that will be later now let’s take a look at the features. The Reverend Pete Anderson Signature Guitar features full hollow maple body with laminated spruce top and bound f-holes, 3-piece korina neck, medium oval neck profile, rosewood fingerboard, 22 narrow jumbo frets, 24.75″ scale length, Tune-O-Matic bridge w/ roller saddles, Bigsby B70 tremolo tailpiece, two Revered P90 humbucker pickups, 3-way pickup switch (middle position cancels both pickups hum) and volume, tone and bass contour controls. In this product line there are only two models, a 100-watts head amp called VL2100 and a 100-watts combo amp called VL2212, both amps look very similar (there are only some changes in the controls section) and they are all-tube amps which sound is very similar to the previous signature model but almost with 15 years of combined experience added. The shared features between the two Carvin Steve Vai Legacy II Signature Amps models are 3-channels (clean, clean boost and lead), 3-band EQ, 5 12AX7 (V1, V2, V3 Groove Tubes), Quad EL34 matched Groove Tubes (includes a bias switch for 5881, 6L6GC or EL34), cabinet-emulation line output, effects loop, 25-, 50- and 100-watts output and 4, 8 ... We could say that there are 2 groups in these new models, on one hand the 2008 ‘58 Explorer and the 2008 ‘58 Flying V, and on the other hand the 2008 ‘58 ES-335 and the 2008 ‘58 Les Paul, both groups share some features, let’s see the common and the specific ones. The first group (with the Explorer and the Fying V) share korina body and neck, rounded neck profile, rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, 24.75″ scale length, ABR-1 bridge, BurstBucker 1 and 2 humbucker pickups, 3-way pickup switch and 2 volume 1 tone controls. [ Full reading ] Comments: 0 Retro-King 50 Watts Combo Amp Fri Oct 17, 2008 8:07 am by 15MetalRocker ![]() The "50 Watt Combo" is a replica of the 1960's 50 watt plexi with a solid state rectifier (you can order this with a GZ34 rectifier tube * if you want) in a combo version. It uses two EL-34 output tubes and a heyboer 50 watt plexi output transformer. The output tranny built for me by heyboer has the correct 3.4k primary plate load. Unlike the 45, which uses a shared cathode, the 50 watt uses a separate cathode arrangement on the first tube, which adds pre-amp gain. A .68 bypass cap on the second stage 33k slope resistor and 500pf cap gives that classic British midrange crunch of the original. You can order this amp with a small switch that takes this .68 bypass cap in and out of the circuit. I also offer my gain stage mod, which gives you a great amount of controllable gain.
